Are you an 8th grade female baller ready to compete, grow, and level-up with like-minded athletes? This season, the WYO Sports Ranch is rolling out a competitive 8th Grade Girls Club Program — and we’re looking for players who bring passion, hustle, and heart.

All players MUST PARTICIPATE in the 7th/8th Grade Homestead League beginning December 1, 2025 — focused on position-less basketball, elite-level fundamentals, and high-energy team play.

  • For players selected to compete in regional tournaments, there will be an additional coach’s compensation charge to account for a respective coach’s travel, food and hotel accommodations. Estimated charge is $50/tournament/player.

Age Groups

For the 2025-2026 season, Club basketball will be offered for 8th grade GIRLS ONLY. WYO Sports Ranch hopes to expand the Club experience in the 2026-2027 season.

Registration

To participate in WSR 8th Grade Girls Club Basketball, you MUST register for our Homestead League taking place December 1-17, 2025. The Homestead League will be used as the evaluation for team placement. Teams will be announced by December 18, 2025 before the first tournament Holiday Hoops Festival on December 20th. The $80 registration fee for Homestead League will be deducted from the overall $650 club fee in the form of a discount code. The Official Club Registration Link (and discount code) will be available at the first parent meeting on December 3, 2025.

Coaches

Practices will be led by WSR Academy coaches:

Jennifer Alvar, Hallie Jimenez, Jill Russell, Shawn Gillum, Kendrick Jump, Camrynn Vance, Emory Yoosook, and Trey Ransom. There will be additional high school athletes invited to assist as needed under the guidance of lead coaches.

Practice Schedule

Homestead League:

  • Dates: December 1–17, 2025
  • Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
  • Time: 5:00–6:30 PM
  •  Location: WYO Sports Ranch

 

8th Grade Club Team Practices:

  • Dates:January 5 – March 15, 2025 ( No practice 1/19 & 2/16)
  • Days: Monday & Wednesday
  • Time: 6:30–8:00 PM
  • Location: WYO Sports Ranch

 

Select Team: Parents can expect these teams to be as competitive as possible. No play time guarantees for pool or bracket play.

OPTIONAL OFFERING: WSR Sports Performance with Nancy Robertson Physical Therapy

The WSR Sports Performance experience, utilizing licensed professionals and their respective Sportsmetrics certification, is designed to provide instruction and functional strength training in a progressive format for ACL and injury prevention. Sportsmetrics, a research-based program, has been proven to reduce the incident of non-contact ACL injuries and enhance sports performance.

    • 30 Minutes Before Homestead League in December only
    • 30 Minutes Before Club Practice in January only

Tentative Tournament Schedule

Casper Tournaments

Team Formation:
Beginning with the tournament in Casper on December 20th, teams will be evenly and/or randomly grouped to promote participation, competition and development during our local tournaments. All players will be a part of a team for the following tournaments; however rosters may change: 

  • Dec 20–21, 2025 – Holiday Hoops Festival – Casper, WY
  • Jan 17–18, 2026 – Altitude Tip-Off – Casper, WY
  • Feb 14–15, 2026 – For the Love of the Game – Casper, WY
  • Mar 7–8, 2026 – YBBT City – Casper, WY

 

Potential Regional Tournaments

Team Formation:
Rosters for regional tournament play will be limited by number and evaluations. There is a chance that not all players will be rostered. However, all girls are invited to practice and travel with the team to earn their spot as rosters evolve. These teams will be chosen through an evaluation process based on skill level, attitude, effort, attendance and performance. Teams will be formed through the evaluation process for the following tournaments:

  • Jan 31–Feb 1, 2026 – Hardwood Classic – Bozeman, MT
  • Jan 31–Feb 1, 2026 – Pronghorn Classic – Gillette, WY
  • Feb 7-8, 2026 – Polar Bear Classic – Rapid City, SD
  • Feb 27- March 1, 2026 – Gillette Pinnacle Shootout – Gillette, WY
  • Mar 14–15, 2026 – WYBA State Championship – Casper, WY

 

⚠ Please Note: There is a chance that not all players will attend every out-of-town tournament.

Team Communication

All communication — including schedules, updates, travel info, and game day details — will be managed through a team app, which will be shared with each family after team placement.

CLUB Basketball FAQs

The WYO Sports Ranch Volleyball Club will provide youth athletes access to a high-quality program focused on developing volleyball players at all ages and skill levels. We offer top-tier training and a supportive environment for athletes to develop their skills and passion for the sport.

 The number of teams per age group will be determined by the number of participants. Our goal is to accommodate everyone interested, ensuring there’s a place for players of all levels.

Absolutely not. We believe in inclusivity and creating a welcoming space for all. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, you’re encouraged to join us and participate!

Once the WYO Sports Ranch facility is completed, all practices will be held there. Practices are scheduled to begin the week of January 6th, 2025 and will be held twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The choice of tournament locations will be made by individual teams and their coaches. The season cost includes registration for 4-6 tournaments. WSR itself will be hosting 6 volleyball tournaments next spring, but teams have the flexibility to choose tournaments that best suit their needs.

Yes, you can. Each child will still need to register independently and will still need to attend tryouts. On the registration there will be a spot to input the coach’s name.

Yes, you can.  This decision is between the coach and the parents of those players.  Additional costs will apply for additional tournaments.

Yes, you can.  On your child’s registration please select the box that indicates that you are interested in coaching.

Yes, applications will be available soon.

Depending on the sport your child is playing, there may be additional equipment costs.

 For example, volleyball players will incur additional costs for knee pads, jersey, Spandex and/or athletic leggings, and AAU Membership. If your child is on a team that participates in additional tournaments, you may also be responsible for a prorate share of the additional court time, tournament registration fee, and additional coaches compensation.

WYO Sports Ranch Volleyball Club Select is our elite program designed for highly competitive players. To qualify for a select team, girls must participate in tryouts, where coaches will evaluate their skills and determine the best fit for each athlete.

At this time, Select Club Teams are by invite only. You cannot register your child for a Select Team.  Invites for our Select Teams will take place after initial tryouts.

Yes, youth athletes can be invited at anytime throughout the club season.
